| Principal for a Day Having Fun, Boosting Spirits, and Sharing the Good News about Our Schools!!!  Get STAR 94.5 out to your school!Photos: Principal for a Day The concept for “Principal for the Day” started in 2006. We noticed that many Orange County schools were getting such bad publicity. We also heard that some schools were failing the FCAT exam, suffering from low school spirit, and poor attendance. STAR 94.5 decided to get involved by helping to lift morale and offer the good news to the community about our schools and students. Since 2006, we have visited Evans, Jones, and Oakridge High Schools, as well as Memorial Middle School and several others. At Richmond Elementary we helped provide them with more than 100 volunteer hours and brought in several celebrities for their “Read-A-Thon.” We’ve held round-table discussions with close to one hundred students and have even invited all of them for tours at our station, lunch and other promotional opportunities. The promotion has been touted by Orange County Superintendent Ron Blocker, Principals and students at the schools we’ve visited. Currently, we have schools that call us for a chance to have the STAR 94.5 morning show at their school. |
