What is "Jena in our Community"?
STAR 94.5 is aware of the national attention that was focused on Jena, Louisiana. In 2007, STAR 94.5 was able to take several of our listeners to protest the incarceration of the young men as part of a 200 strong caravan representing Orlando. The emotions shared on our journey home, were amazing and it was determined that Orlando has problems of its own.

STAR 94.5 created "Jena in OUR Community" in an effort to address and focus on the issues in our own neck of the woods with the same fervor that we showed the boys in Jena, Lousiana. Monthly topics have included: hate crime legislation, finance, HIV / AIDS awareness, foreclosure prevention and Dating violence among youth.
