It's from the basketball court to the legal court for Kobe Bryant today. Bryant will be in a Colorado courtroom for a preliminary hearing in his sexual assault case.
But many legal analysts believe the basketball star's lawyers will waive the proceeding, which will determine whether the case goes to trial.
The defense team last week lost a bid to have Bryant's 19 year old accuser testify during the hearing.
Bryant could end up being arraigned on the sexual assault charge today and making a plea. In either case, he has to be in the courtroom for a bond hearing.
Just like in Bryant's previous court appearance, a media horde has descended on the small town of Eagle, about 120 miles west of Denver.
Police will be setting up barricades to keep both reporters and fans at bay.
If you're looking for TV footage of Kobe in court today, don't bother.
The judge has barred TV cameras from the courtroom. Ditto for still cameras. But there will be a sketch artist on hand to draw the proceedings.
The judge handling the case has put reporters on notice about how they are to conduct themselves.
The original order threatened to punish anyone who disclosed the victim's name or showed her picture. But the passage was later deleted after media attorneys said that was unconstitutional.
