Marvin Davies, a long-time civil rights figure who marched with Martin Luther King-Junior, has died at the age of 69.
Davies was the N-double-A-C-P's Florida director in the 1960s.
As a college student, Davies protested with King and took part in a series of boycotts in Tallahassee, St. Augustine and Montgomery, Alabama.
Davies was frequently in the news, pressing governors and legislators, speaking out against the death penalty and urging more financial support for job training programs.
His daughter, Joi, says he died of colon cancer Friday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Bay Pines.
