WHAT: One-day outdoor festival celebrating music, arts, food, family and culture in a diverse downtown Orlando

Light Up Orlando returns with headline music, entertainment and local arts and cuisine, bringing families, friends and the community together for a special celebration. Light Up Orlando was a popular annual event and Orlando tradition that ran for eleven consecutive years starting in 1983, drawing nearly 100,000 attendees annually at the height of its success.

MUSIC: Light Up Orlando will again boast performances by national bands and musicians on seven stages. Headlining on the Star 94.5 Stage will be R&B singer, Jeffrey Osborne. Other acts will be crowd favorites .38 Special; Soul Asylum; Cowboy Mouth; Seven Mary Three, TKA, George Lamond and country performer Colin Raye, as well as regional and local groups including Bad Boys of Breaks featuring Dana D,Tony Cook's Trunk o' Funk, Hindu Cowboys, Blindfold, Hugo, Ruby James, Diablo Canyon, Boxelder Generation, Dialect, Big Sky, Dame, Tough Luck, Trespasser, Milka and Kaizer Soza. Additional talent will be announced in the coming weeks.

ART: The Orlando Metro Arts Collection (OMAC) will showcase the wealth of talent represented by Orlando's local visual artists who will display their artwork in Heritage Square. Nationally reknowned, local artist "Scamble" Campbell created the artwork for the Light Up Orlando Collector's Poster. Known for his live concert creations, "Scramble" will also be appearing and performing at Light Up Orlando. The limited edition Light Up Orlando poster will be available for purchase at the event.

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES: There will be a wide-variety of interactive children's activities including games and face painters, stiltwalkers, magicians and other special entertainment including a carnival area filled with carnival games and rides for the kids and the kids at heart. An Xtreme sports area will venture into the fear factor of the young and young at heart, offering live music acts, participation and demonstrations of skateboarding, motorcross jumping and BMX.

FOOD: There will be an irresistible sampling of some of Orlando's finest cuisine. A portion of the proceeds from beverage sales will benefit the Downtown Orlando Merchants Authority.

TICKETS: Light Up Orlando tickets are on sale now at TicketMaster outlets and on-line at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets for adults (age 13+) are $5 in advance and $10 day of event. Adults will receive two FREE kid's tickets (children 12 and under) with each paid adult ticket, offered at the time of purchase (advance or day of event). Children 12 and under are free, but will only be admitted when accompanied by a paying adult.

COMMUNITY COMMITMENT: Light Up Orlando also spotlights the commitment of business and community leaders to initiate and realize the vision for a true Orlando renaissance. The event is a cooperative effort of Light Up Orlando Inc., the City of Orlando, the Downtown Development Board and the Downtown Orlando Merchants Authority (DOMA). Many have offered their support including presenting sponsors: COX Event Group, the Orlando Sentinel and WKMG TV Channel 6. Event sponsors include the Orlando Utilities Commission, TicketMaster, Florida Citrus Sports, Budweiser, Orlando Modern Arts Collection, RBC Centura, TeleMundo, TravelHost, Visual Flux and the Downtown Orlando Partnership.
