8 AM - Suspect leaves his wallet at crime scene
POLK COUNTY - Polk County deputies tracked down a suspected thief this weekend who left a telltale sign at the crime scene: his wallet.
About 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped a 2001 blue Dodge Dakota that had been reported stolen in Lakeland the day before. The driver was 25-year-old Randy Sealey, a Lakeland man wanted in a robbery at the Sweetbay Supermarket on Friday. Deputies said Sealey approached a female in the grocery store Friday morning and began a conversation. He then followed her to the parking lot, asked for change and snatched her coin purse, deputies said. As he was fleeing, Sealey dropped his wallet, leaving a drivers license behind, authorities said.
Sealey was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail. He faces charges of robbery by sudden snatching, driving while license suspended and grand theft auto.
