8 AM - Woman Dead, Second Hurt In Melbourne Shooting

MELBOURNE -- One woman is dead, and another is fighting for her life after a shooting along University Boulevard Monday night.

Police said the first woman was shot in the upper body just before 9 p.m. She was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where she died.

The second woman was taken to the hospital by someone on the scene. Police said she underwent surgery, but her present condition was unknown.
