June is National HIV Testing Day
and STAR 94.5 wants to take this week to share some very alarming facts on how this disease still has a grip on the black community. We'll start with women - last year began the journey for sisters organizing to survive - they converged on Orlando by the hundreds. We made a commitment to get tested for HIV and that we would get each of our sisters and that means our daughters, their friends, our neighbors and everyone else to the doctor....Well did you?
The number of women living with HIV and AIDS is steadily rising in fact 44% of the 40 million adults living with HIV/AIDS worldwide are women...and younger sisters are the fastest growing group of people with the disease. No matter what, before you do anything, make sure he's been tested and so have you...STAR Cares About Our Community.
